Sun Aug 28 06:00:01 EDT 2022 ======================================== Slept from one to seven-thirty. Woke briefly around five. Mostly sunny. Highs in the upper 80s. South winds up to 10 mph. To do: * [x] 04:00 PM - 06:00 PM grocery delivery * [x] request absentee ballot for November election * [x] play with some D&D stuff Twenty-minute walk in the morning. Sunny but not yet hot. Saw mushrooms, chipmunks, mourning doves, and a crow. Heard crickets, cicadas, and blue jays. Took out trash. Watched a couple episodes of Lovecraft Country. Finished reading Fahrenheit 451. OK, but I rate it much lower in overall merit and sophistication than something like Do Androids Dream of Electronic Sheep. The Hound was a nice bit of dread that could have been played up even more. The novel could have ended sooner without losing anything — perhaps after Beatty crisps up or when the Hound leaps at Montag or when Montag floats with the river current. The nuclear war doesn't seem to add anything. Servings: grains 6/6, fruit 1/4, vegetables 2/4, dairy 2/2, meat 1/3, nuts 0/0.5 Brunch: macaroni and cheese, tomatoes, coffee Afternoon snack: banana Dinner: Thai -4
