Sat Aug 27 06:00:01 EDT 2022 ======================================== Slept from eleven to nine. Woke briefly around three-thirty. Patchy fog early in the morning. Mostly sunny. Highs in the lower 80s. East winds up to 10 mph. Read more of Fahrenheit 451. Maybe I never did read this in school? It's not what I remembered/thought. It's not about censorship or TV being worse that books. It's not about the medium. What matters is the quality — whether the work captures something rich and true of life. Also (and this is where Bradury's warning is most prescient for us) leisure matter — not the leisure to watch be entertained, but quiet contemplative leisure, time to ruminate. Watched a few episodes of March Comes in Like a Lion. Long nap in the evening. Finished listening to the audiobook of Bill Bryson's A Short History of Nearly Everything. Servings: grains 3/6, fruit 1/4, vegetables 3/4, dairy 2/2, meat 2/3, nuts 0/0.5 Brunch: banana Lunch: baked potato, sausage Afternoon snack: corn chips and salsa Dinner: ramen -4
