Thu Sep 22 09:56:30 EDT 2016 Slept from around two in the morning until nine-thirty. Woke once around seven. Mostly sunny today. High of eighty-six. I like the Google doodle for Autumnal equinox today. https://www.google.com/doodles/first-day-of-fall-2016-northern-hemisphere Gah. How do I stop vim from adding two spaces between the sentences of joined lines? :set nojoinspaces Changed the filter on my water pitcher. Played Pingus, a Linux clone of Lemmings. Topped up funds in my Vultr and Namecheap accounts. I didn't know (or had forgotten) about the `base64` utility. --- bava !5145 tmp/gv % cat test.svg | base64 | tr -d '\n' Suitable for stuffing into: <img alt="test" src="data:image/svg+xml;base64,[...base64 data...]"> Goals: - Walk Done. Twenty minute walk after dark. Overcast and still quite warm. The cricket and cicadas are still singing. Summer hasn't quite let go yet. - Upgrade OpenBSD vm from 5.9 to 6.0 Done. That went smoothly. I'm constantly impressed by the OpenBSD guys. Hmm. Looks like Vultr has inexpensive block storage now. I'll keep that in mind if I get low on disk space again. Block storage can't be snapshotted, but that's not a huge issue if I'm just looking for a little extra /var/whatever/ space. I toyed with replacing pound with haproxy, but the OpenBSD haproxy package isn't compiled with gzip support and meh. Breakfast: mixed greens, carrots, lasagna, coffee with half-and-half Lunch: cookies (ugh) Dinner: pizza
