Went to bed at 10:45, slept well, and woke up before seven.
Partly cloudy and forty-nine today. Good.
Goals:
Work:
- Talk to Jason at HZ, configure switch
No, he didn't call me, and it was too late in the day by the time I remembered.
Maybe I asked him to call me Monday? I thought I said today.
- Make sure accessibility features are turned on for the rds server, and send out an info email.
I asked Scott to look into this.
- Work on firefly virtualization
Done.
Significant progress. I created the vm, and I'm starting to move stuff over.
Took a too short walk at lunch. The clouds disappeared, and it's a beautiful bright blue day.
Home:
- Work on personal server
Plugged in a display and keyboard, and powered it up.
It's nice and quiet, quieter than my workstation. Good.
See below.
- Check out Let's Encrypt
Nope.
Balls. FreeBSD 10.2 doesn't support UEFI booting to a root filesystem on zfs.
https://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=uefi&apropos=0&sektion=8&manpath=FreeBSD+11-current&format=html
boot1.efi cannot load loader.efi from a ZFS(8) file system. As a result,
UEFI does not support a typical root file system on ZFS configuration.
Also, the installer supports only either fully automatic partitioning or brutal gpart on the command line and manual fstab creation.
I would think we could have a UFS /boot partition, with the rest on zfs....
