Thu Dec 3 07:54:11 EST 2015 Went to bed at 11:30, slept well, and woke up at seven. Mostly cloudy and forty-two today. There's a light dusting of snow on the ground this morning. Goals: Work: - Work on systemd notes A little. - Review more invoices Done. - Check lockbox file move Done. Doesn't look like there was any kind of technical problem. Probable user error. - Order monitor for KW and Jim Done. Didn't walk at lunch. Instead, I spent the hour doing the physical build of my new personal server. The only thing I'm missing is the second stick of RAM, which may not be here until Monday. Home: - Finish physical build of personal server Done. - Check out AsciiDoc A little. Horizontal and vertical cell spanning in tables is supported, which is nice. But the syntax isn't particularly nice. - Parse weather download better. NOAA keeps changing the order of the lines. Went for a walk before dinner in the neighborhood east of the cemetery. People have started putting up Christmas lights. Nice. I had some intention of starting the FreeBSD install on my new machine tonight, but I forgot several things at work. Oh, well. It can wait till tomorrow. I'm pleased with how the physical build came out. Cable management is a little challenged in such a small case, but everything worked on the first boot. It seemed reasonably quiet when I turned it on at work, it's hard to tell how that will translate to the slightly lower ambient noise at home. Learned a new word: "tyro" http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?term=tyro "1610s, from Medieval Latin tyro, variant of Latin tiro (plural tirones) "young soldier, recruit, beginner," of unknown origin."
