Thu Oct 1 08:21:15 EDT 2015 Went to bed at ten. Woke up at 7:30. I really need to start going to bed a _little_ earlier; it's much more pleasant to wake up naturally than by alarm clock. I should wake up every morning and figure out what I'm looking forward to for the day. What am I looking forward to today? Getting the vlan tutorial done, I guess. Goals: Work: - Finish writing vlan tutorial Yeah, done, at least as a first draft. http://paulgorman.org/technical/vlan-tutorial/ Wandered into some fairly interesting territory involving switch exploits, although somewhat beyond the scope of the tutorial. Walked at lunch. Saw a couple of those little white butterflies, and a blue jay. One grasshopper; they're certainly less active than they were a month ago. Saw Crystal carrying a watermelon almost as large as herself. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrying_on_the_head (She wasn't carrying it on her head, I just thought that she should consider it as an option.) Home: - Get a minimal D&D adventure done for Sunday A little. Sketched out an entrance for Lion Barbican of the Moon Temple. Also decided on a general approach to weekly adventure writing: 1. Write a little crap dungeon, so the players will have at least something to do come game time. 2. Make it better as time allows. - Wash dishes Done. Started watching a show on Netflix called Dark Matter. Even more than Firefly, this is clearly someone's Traveller campaign brought to screen. Not that that's a bad thing. Maybe not today, but at some point I'd like to learn more about RRDtool. Man, that Patti Smith cover of Smell Like Teen Spirit is really fantastic!
