(Or maybe that's on the beholder's ship?) Finished reading Butter. The book itself is fine, but its marketing doesn't match the contents. The cover features streaks of blood along with the words "exuberant" and "romp", despite the contents being devoid of blood or thrills. If the jacket had more accurately pitched the novel as "a slow rumination about women's relationships to each other, their bodies, men, food, and society's expectations", I probably wouldn't have read it. 🤷 Servings: grains 0/4, vegetables+fruit 3/5, dairy+meat 2/4, nuts+beans 0/0.5 Breakfast: banana Brunch: omelet with Cayenne peppers, chives, and tomatoes I grew.
