I've been pretty lukewarm on the 2024 season of Doctor Who (series 14?), but the 73 Yards episode was pretty good.
Unless I missed it, though, the writers never explain whey anyone who talks to the old lady immediately regards Ruby with extreme, relationship-ending disgust.
Why _disgust_?
Seems like a cheap trick, but maybe disgust and abandonment is somehow thematic?
Maybe the Marti Bridges character also exists for thematic reasons (or maybe she only exists to make Roger ap Gwilliam less likable, which would also be a cheap writing trick)??
