It might work well to combine the espionage thriller with cyberpunk in the now or very near futre — classic spying of nation states but also corporations like Apple and Google operating as near-equivalent powers, and spoiler factions like ideological hackers, cryptocurrency and AI extremists, and startup tech bros.
