Hmm, apparently a DisplayPort to HDMI cable only work with a DP _source_, because a DP source can fail back to HDMI signaling but an HDMI source can't tell a DP display to do so.

Ah, but the "Code Spell Checker" plugin gets activated on `z=`.
The cheap silicone sleeves seem to make enough of a difference to mostly prevent the Airpods from shifting around, unsealing, and falling out of my ears.
Poor design from Apple.
