Thu Jun 17 06:00:01 EDT 2021 ======================================== Slept from ten-thirty to six. Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid 80s. Southwest winds 5 to 15 mph. Work ---------------------------------------- - 10 AM business team meeting Done. - follow up on Veeam quote (not that H&T will probably pay for it now) Done. > After nearly 68 years in business, we have made the decision to explore options for a potential sale of our properties. This decision did not come easily, but we feel it is the right time. We do not expect any immediate changes in our day-to-day operations at this time. Should we move forward with a sale, we expect that would occur no sooner than the last quarter of 2021. We have hired a firm to market the properties to a wide audience, and it is our goal to find a buyer who will keep the staff together and let you continue to provide great service to our residents as well as inject new life into the properties. Fuck. Went into the office to investigate the fiber connection to Pointe outage. Spent a few minutes gossiping with a Central Maintenance guy about the sale. Short lunch, since I'm taking off a little early to get an oil change. Home ---------------------------------------- - 3:30 PM oil change Done. Oil change wasn't too traumatic, though I was dismayed that none of the Toyota staff wore masks. Anyhow, glad to have it done. Thirty-minute walk. Warm and sunny. Saw a turkey vulture, a dragonfly, and the moon. Surprisingly, though dismayed, I'm not in a panic about my job. Panic is, so far, merely lurking in the background. Maybe it's true that major stress (like the pandemic) can build resilience. Started reading Masquerade in Lodi.
