Sat May 22 06:00:02 EDT 2021 ======================================== Slept from twelve-thirty to eight without waking. Mostly cloudy with scattered showers in the morning, then partly cloudy in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 80s. West winds 5 to 10 mph increasing to 10 to 15 mph in the late morning and afternoon. Chance of showers 40 percent. Home ---------------------------------------- - laundry Done. - tilde thing No. - D&D stuff A bit. Watched Sullivan's Travels on the Criterion Channel. Pretty good. A movie (in part) about movies. Veronica Lake's surprisingly funny. And tiny — 4′ 11″, apparently. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/O_Brother,_Where_Art_Thou%3F#Production > The title of the film is a reference to the 1941 Preston Sturges film Sullivan's Travels, in which the protagonist (a director) wants to direct a film about the Great Depression called O Brother, Where Art Thou?[8] that will be a "commentary on modern conditions, stark realism, and the problems that confront the average man". Lacking any experience in this area, the director sets out on a journey to experience the human suffering of the average man but is sabotaged by his anxious studio. The film has some similarity in tone to Sturges's film, including scenes with prison gangs and a black church choir. The prisoners at the picture show scene is also a direct homage to a nearly identical scene in Sturges's film.[22] Watched My Lady Even too. Same years as Sullivan's travels, but more of a classic screwball comedy. Maybe just a tighter script than Sullivan's Travels, with more banter. https://sarkos.tumblr.com/post/651893989085167616 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SCP_Foundation Watered plants. Watched The Railway Children. A little odd but pleasant. Wow, Scott called me out of the blue. He's in Turkey now. Running a little low on monkey, and still looking for a vaccine, but otherwise OK. He says he and Steve would like to play D&D with me. https://freesound.org/browse/ Servings: grains 5/6, fruit 2/4, vegetables 2/4, dairy 1/2, meat 3/3, nuts 0/0.5 Brunch: cucumber, orange, hot dog, coffee (500 cal) Lunch: popcorn (200 cal) Afternoon snack: cookies (600 cal) Dinner: banana, rice with egg, sausage, vegetables, and kim chi (800 cal) Total calories: 2100 -24
