Sat 30 Mar 2019 12:47:13 PM EDT Slept from eleven to five, then again from seven to ten. High of forty-three and rain today. Goals: - Laundry Done — two loads. - Grocery Done. Wait, why am I using NixOs at work instead of Debian backports? Just because NixOS is neat, I guess. FFS, the syntax of `.cwmrc` changed substantially between the version packed on Debian 9 and Testing. Also, the version of CWM in Testing doesn't fix the window grouping issue that hit me yesterday. There's no difference in behaviour between `window-cycle` and `window-cycle-ingroup`; maybe I don't understand how they're supposed to behave? NisOS packages CWM, but it's the same version as in Debian stable; Debian backports it is. Ah, enlightenment on the `window-cycle-ingroup` front. I had routinely been using `group-only` to switch and hide other groups. Hidden groups don't get switched to by non-ingroup window cycling. I probably generally _don't_ want to hide groups. Then, how to I jump to a particular group? Hit `group-toggle-[n]` twice? Hmm, that's not ideal. Here's what I want in a window manager, with simple keyboard shortcuts: - assign a window to a group/workspace, ideally workspaces with arbitrary names but at least 1-9 - jump to previous window in current group (bounce between two windows) - cycle through all windows in current group - jump to previous window, across groups (bounce between two most recent workspaces) - jump to group [n] - cycle through all groups - assign/send window to group (unlike in Gnome3, this should not switch me to that new workspace, just move the window) - ideally, support CWM's window labeling and search i3 is still the closest to my ideal. Not sure why my eye keeps wandering. Maybe I just need a new color scheme. Watched some anime. The arms on the Ikea JÄRVFJÄLLET can be reversed to bump into the desk less. Fifteen-minute walk in the late afternoon. Got slightly rained on. A mundane but moderately productive day, I guess. An tomorrow I can just relax. Servings: grains 5/6, fruit 3/4, vegetables 5/4, dairy 1/2, meat 2/3, nuts 0/0.5 Breakfast: migas, tomato, carrots, mandarin, coffee, banana Lunch: mandarin, carrots Afternoon snack: Dinner: spaghetti 124/77
