I've been working so much on OpenBSD lately, that I've started typing `doas` on Linux.
Had lunch with Ed in Birmingham.
Hung out for a couple hours.
Why doesn't `notify-send` work in a cron job?
The notifications travel over dbus.
We must export the user's value for the environment variable `DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS` to the environment where cron runs `notify-send`.
export $(cat /proc/$(pgrep -u $(whoami) -f 'dbus-daemon --session')/environ | grep -z '^DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS=')
Lunch: coffee, Thai
Dinner: pizza
