Fri Apr 7 08:23:22 EDT 2017 Slept from ten-thirty to six-thirty. Woke briefly around four-thirty. Partly sunny today, with a high of forty-nine. Left home early enough to stop at Starbucks and still get to work a couple of minutes early. Work: - Why isn't my test phone registering with bag? Done. Nothing mysterious. I just fat-fingered an iptables rule. Need to get into the habit of running `iptables-restore --test /etc/iptables/rules.v4`. I added the above as a cron job, just in case. - What's up with printing to PW? Worked on it, but it's still mysterious. ...might have fixed it. Will test more on Monday. Fifteen minute walk at lunch. Windy. Saw a turkey vulture, a crow, and a seagull. Hmm. Why did I have to: # sysctl -w net.ipv4.conf.all.accept_redirects=1 ...when "accept_redirects" and "secure_redirects" are already set true on each interface? The redirects are coming from my default gateway, so I would think secure_redirects would be enough. Worked a couple of hours late. Fifteen minute walk after work. The wind died down, so it was more pleasant. Nice to have the sun still up until almost eight at night. The moon was out in the blue sky. Despite the day's coolness, the quality of light this evening made it feel like spring. Home: - Golang No. Tried out KDE Plasma 5 tonight. Contrary to what I'd heard, it's not a very polished experience. As much as I dislike Gnome for some of its design decisions, it's the most polished general-purpose desktop environment for Linux now. For myself, I reverted back to i3 (how I miss wmii!). Breakfast: carrots, caffe latte, breakfast sandwich Lunch: Thai Dinner: Italian sub, fries
