Slept from 11:30 to 6:30 without waking. In fact, I woke up five minutes before my alarm went off.
High of twenty today. Snow after one o'clock, amounting to less than an inch of accumulation.
Work:
- Review Pheasant Run network status for temporary offices
Done.
- Move beyond playing with lxc
No.
- Make iptables start at boot on my workstation
Done.
Took Kristen out to lunch before she goes on maternity leave. Went to Panera.
Home:
- Try out i3 again (looks like it's improved since I last used it)
Done.
I like it. I like it better than last time I tried it. The containers abstraction bothers me less.
WTF is with the sticky, shitty Debian desktop background wallpaper?!
Even imagemagick `display -window root` can't override it. Not cool, Debian.
This works:
% feh --bg-scale ~/.wallpaper
Note to self: Amazon claims that USPS delivered the following item today, but they were not delivered.
- The Hope Six Demolition Project, PJ Harvey
- Love And Hate, Michael Kiwanuka
- Teens Of Denial, Car Seat Headrest
- Blackstar, David Bowie

So, not just me, and probably not related to my switch to i3.
However, the work-around suggested doesn't fix it for me.
It also only seems to happen in Firefox, and Firefox has started crashing like mad.
No, it happens in Chromium too. The surest way to trigger it is with the File Open window.
This is barely tolerable. The Save As window also freezes drawing.
Something is fucked. Compton: can't live with it, can't live without it.
Breakfast: carrots, coffee, yogurt with berries
Lunch: Panera Thai soup and chicken avocado sandwich
Dinner: ribs, beans, coleslaw
