Difference between movement speeds of each side?
Speed corresponds to dice size for opposed rolls (e.g. 30' = d4, 60' = d6, 90' = d8)?
- Encounter distance (divided by ten or whatever, if we want a single digit) is the base distance number (or zero if already in melee)
- +1 if side with initiative runs away

- Test. On fail, the slowest member gets caught. Do the other stop or leave him?
- Some sort of linear track mechanic (i.e. number line, or something like Traveller combat)?
- Drop backpack for a re-roll (pack contents lost to pursuers).
