Slept from ten to six. Woke briefly around two.
Another unseasonably warm day. High of eighty. Thirty percent chance of rain in the afternoon.
Goals:
Work:
- Yardi database sftp deal
Done.
Half hour walk at lunch. Windy and not too hot, but dark storm clouds. Saw a turkey vulture, six crows, and well over a dozen seagulls.
Home:
- Work on D&D mini rules
Done.
- Expand adventure design section
- List of recommended adventure elements (trap, toy, wonder, friendly or neutral npc, etc.)
- List of scenario types
- SEMIBUG meeting 7 PM at Altair
Done.
Talk from Mike Wayne about monitoring with nagios and mrtg.
A couple of good recommendations from the post-presentation discussion:
- Look at the Nagios fork Icinga, which is apparently superior
- Collectd and Graphite as superior replacments for mrtg
Nick brought in an old Hyperion computer.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperion_(computer)
It was considerably more compact and portable than my Compaq Portable.
Twenty minute walk after work. It never got around to raining, and has turned into a nice, mostly-sunny evening. Overnight, the majority of the honey locusts turned yellow, and started dropping leaves.
Ten minute walk when I got home from SEMIBUG. A clear night, the moon big near the horizon. Crickets.
Breakfast: carrots, spinach, yogurt, coffee with half-and-half
Lunch: coffee with half-and-half, chicken burrito
Dinner: salad
