Slept from about eleven to six without waking (although I may go back to bed for an hour...).
High of fifty-two (!!!) today. Windy and rainy.
Goals:
- More work on DigitalOcean droplet. I'd love to get mail working.
Hmm. I may not bother with setting up mail. May just use free mail forwarding through namecheap.

Yeah, forwarding is good enough. Done.
Hmm. "M+ 1m" is a nice monospace font.
--- bava 8:13AM ~ % sudo apt-get install fonts-mplus xfonts-mplus
Ended up switching to Liberation Mono for a change of pace.
set guifont=Liberation\ Mono\ 11
set linespace=1
Also install the Ubuntu fonts, though (contrary to my expectation based on the letter forms) I prefer Liberation Mono for readability.
% mkdir ~/.fonts
% cd ~/.fonts
% wget http://font.ubuntu.com/download/ubuntu-font-family-0.83.zip
% unzip ubuntu-font-family-0.83.zip
% fc-cache -fv
% urxvt -fn 'xft:Ubuntu Mono:pixelsize=16:antialias=true:autohint=false:hinting=true:hintstyle=hintslight' -fg black -bg white &
Ubuntu Mono is a nice font. It ticks all my letter shape boxes. Somehow, I'm just not finding it readable at the moment. Maybe it's the weird m's that distract me.
Also discovered that it's generally a bad idea to use autohint, unless the font has no or very poor hinting. Use 'hinting' true instead, and test hintstyle as hintslight/hintmedium/hintfull.
--- bava 5:01PM ~ % head -12 .Xdefaults
! Run `xdpyinfo | grep dots` to find display DPI, if not correct by default.
! Xft.dpi: 96
Xft.rgba: rgb
Xft.lcdfilter: lcddefault
Xft.embeddedbitmap: false
Xft.antialias: true
Xft.autohint: false
Xft.hinting: true
Xft.hintstyle: hintslight
*.font: xft:DejaVu Sans Mono:antialias=true:autohint=true:hinting=false:pixelsize=11
*.font: xft:Liberation Mono:antialias=true:autohint=true:hinting=false:pixelsize=14
Took a thirty-five minute walk this evening. It's warm out, but a little wet. Saw several flights of ducks and geese. The pond at Beverly Park is still mostly frozen, but with a large patch of liquid on top.
