Thu Jun 11 10:46:37 EDT 2015 Slept pretty well. Slightly cooler today with possible thunderstorms, but it still may hit eighty. Goals: Work: - Work on network/cabling book Done. Significant progress. - Review projects with team Done. Home: - Make Traveller notes Nope. - Work on Traveller character generator A little. Questions: - What characters are valid in the local part of an email address? See RFC 5322. ASCII characters 33-90 and 94-126. See `man ascii`. Subsequent RFCs (6531?) may permit unicode characters beyond the ascii range. I learned something about the (supposed) etymology of trunk lines today. Trunk : A line from one telephone exchange to another exchange. So named because the phone cables were originally strung from one town to another along side railroad trunk lines. (The railroad trunk lines, in turn, were named after steamer trunk luggage of the type a passenger might take on a long trip.) In addition to my walk at lunch, I took a walk when I got home. I ended up in Beverly Park almost by accident after cutting through the little subdivision west of here. Watched a couple of pitches of a softball game. Nice.
