Slept from about ten to seven. Woke up briefly around five. Basically, the same sleep as the night before.
High of thirty-six today. Snow in the afternoon, likely to amount to less than half an inch. You'd think it's winter or something.
Office Christmas party today, and the last day before my vacation.

- Write up a brief year-end project status summary

- Make an appearance at the Christmas party
Done.
Had dinner and a drink, and still got home around six.
A nice time. Laughs with Danielle and Crystal.

Done. Ansible.
Chef and puppet are more focused on initial deployment and config.
Salt and Ansible do that too, but also automate ongoing tasks.

Ansible looks like the winner, mainly for the fewer dependencies on the clients.

Work was a bit of a bust. I accidentally dd'd over the main drive in my workstation, destroying the lvm data. Restored from backup. Not much lost, but it took time.
Got in a twenty minute walk. A few snow flakes. I need to buy gloves.

Did some more reading at home about Ansible and Salt. Maybe Ansible isn't the clear-cut choice for us. Maybe SaltStack. Will read some more.
