Notes on Genesis

I'm reading the bible cover to cover for the first time. The following stories are largely not the most important bits of the bible, but the ones I find narratively interesting.

Genesis

Genesis 4:2-16 Cain and Abel

Why is Abel's sacrifice of sheep acceptable, while Cain's sacrifice of "fruit of the ground" is not?

In English, the "brother's keeper" phrase rings of a keeper of sheep. Does this parallel exist in the original text? I would guess that it does.

Ham sees Noah's nakedness

Genesis 12:10-20 Abram and Sarai in Egrypt

Lot's daughters
