It's not a bad book, but I can't get over how the inaccuracy of this cover blurb:
"An exuberant, indulgent romp of a novel."
Exuberant? Romp?
It's a slow, repetitive meditation on women's roles and their relationships with their bodies and society's ideas of those.
Despite the nominal subject matter of a media sensation and a serial killer, the book is anything but an exuberant romp.
Did the Times critic read the book??
I really suspect not.
