(Not sure if stratification is a thing for these seeds, so I'll try it for half.) Exchanged Easter greetings with Mom and some friends. Hmm. I've been thinking more about Jaron Lanier and You Are Not a Gadget. That I've found it so thought provoking makes me concede that Lanier _may_ not be an idiot, but I'm not convinced he's a top genius. 😆 He generally hand-waves the analysis behind his ideas, leaving me uncertain whether he has deeply analyzed his theses or the book is a string of semi-connected assertions piled up to buttress his big intuition. And he comes out and says that his tactics (attacks on unit, open source, etc.) are intentionally provocative. One time, a professor described my writing style (for essays) as "telegraphic". I suppose it stuck in my head because I understood his comment to be a mile criticism. From context, I assumed that "telegraphic" meant jumping from one idea to another or a premise to a conclusion while speeding past the connection between the two(essentially, the criticism I'm now leveling at Lanier). Upon further reflection today, though, I realize that's probably not what my professor meant. He probably meant [a clipped way of writing which [...] packs information into the smallest possible number of words](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telegram_style)". Which... fair cop — look at the typical style of this diary, terse to the point of often omitting sentence subjects. Holy crap! Started watching The Devil's Advocate and recognized, Heather Matarazzzo, the lead actress from Welcome to the Doll's House. Great cast. Pacino! Fuck, I still love the Internet. Made my first Bluesky post and within minutes it was favorited by a Japanese mascot. Funny even if random. Washed linens. Chatted with Jay a bit. He's spending Easter in Maui!
