Funny.

Went to Royal Oak to see Color Out of Space at the Main.
Good direction and photography.
Strong use of color.
The subject matter and special effects design invite comparison to Carpenter's The Thing — a comparison to which Color falls short.
Color's much less focuses and tense than The Thing, with lower stakes.
Not a bad movie, but not great.

Ten-minute walk in surprisingly heavy snow.
