I'm reading the bible cover to cover for the first time. The following stories are largely not the most important bits of the bible, but the ones I find narratively interesting.
Why is Abel's sacrifice of sheep acceptable, while Cain's sacrifice of "fruit of the ground" is not?
In English, the "brother's keeper" phrase rings of a keeper of sheep. Does this parallel exist in the original text? I would guess that it does.
