Slept for around 11:30 to seven. Woke once in the night.

Sunny today. High of seventy.

Goals:

	Work:
	- Fix number checking in emergency call system
	  Not much.
	  I actually did look at this briefly, but I'm now unsure what was the exact issue. Need to ask Scott.
	  I think the issue was `fix_phone_number()` caring if the number does or doesn't start with a "1".
	  But it actually looks right; it should tolerate either state, and do the right thing.
	  It was the warning from `after_hours_maintenance_handle_calls.py` line 112, but I can't figure out why it was getting thrown.
	- Check out collectd
	  Done.
	  Collectd looks fine, but I'm not sold on Graphite.
	  This will be a project for later.
	- Email alarm guy with questions
	  Done.
	- Talk to Scott about Yardi doubled deposit issue and building occupancy web page (is there a ticket for that?)
	  Done.
	  For the doubled deposit issue, Scott will shift that off to Yardi in the next couple of weeks.
	  Info for the building occupancy report was in the door entry vm ticket. I broke it out into its own ticket.
	- Write notes for tomorrow's manager meeting
	  Done.

How did I miss this? `apt` is the new(ish) unified command, although it doesn't completely supplant `apt-get` and similar specific commands. `apt update` replaces `apt-get update`, `apt full-upgrade` replaces `apt-get dist-upgrade`, `apt search` replaces `apt-cache search`, etc.

Twenty minute walk at lunch. Saw a trio of turkey vultures, and a little white butterfly. It's a nice day --- Mostly sunny, not too hot.

	  Clinton looks good. I like her outfit (better than the last debate, and much better that that red catastrophe from the first debate).
	  Clinton's demeanor is better. She's not smirking and sniggering as much. But still a little, which is too much.
	  Both of them seem to be making vague gestures at "gravitas".
	  Trump is awfully squinty. Does he need glasses?
	  Good, the moderator asked Clinton a question about info from Wikileaks. I wish he'd pushed back against her answer.
	  Clinton is overselling Russian hacks, but she baited Trump into defending Putin.
	  This was the most substantive and least insane of the debates.
	  Some Fox News editorializing from the moderator.
	  Man, Trumps blink rate shot up when the moderator asked him about the sexual assault allegations.
	  So did Clinton's when the moderator asked her about "pay to play" for Clinton Foundation donors.
	  Wow, bad visual with Clinton smiling broadly as Trump confronts her with human rights abuses in Qatar.
	  Stop fucking smirking, Hillary.
	  Holy shit, Trump refuses to promise to accept the election results.
	  What I said about gravitas earlier... that didn't last long.
	  Why is Trump's hair blurred? Video compression can't handle Trump's hair.
	  I still intensely dislike both these candidates.

Twenty minute walk around dusk. Crickets chirping, and a few cicadas click-click-clicking. It's clouded over. Pretty sure I saw an owl fly in front of me, but I'm not sure what kind. It was medium brown or taupe, and the size of a crow or a little smaller, with a distinctly flat owl face.

Yeah. A pretty productive day. Not bad.
