Sat Sep 24 07:14:04 EDT 2016 Slept from around eleven to seven without waking. Mostly sunny. High of seventy-two. Watched Big Trouble in Little China on Netflix. I haven't seen it in years, if not decades. Even more fun than I remembered. I don't say this about many films, but I wish it was a little longer: more/better kung-fu fighting and more mythologizing/history. Vacuumed, watered plants. Spent a few minutes in the shower thinking about Rothko, color field painting, Turner seascapes, fundamentals, mastery, minimalism, a thing in itself, and "writers appreciate a good sentence". But it didn't really coalesce into a coherent idea by the time I got out of the shower. I'd still like to see that Mr. Turner movie, but not enough to buy a DVD. Might try the library. Worked on condensed D&D spell research rules a little. Half hour walk in the early afternoon. Not hot or cold, just nice. Slight breeze. A few clouds in the mostly blue sky. The moon was out, which surprised me given the time of day. Saw a couple of little white butterflies, a black-ish dragonfly, and a turkey vulture. I don't remember seeing turkey vultures so often as a kid. Watched The Ward. The idea of the twist wasn't interesting enough to make the first eighty minutes of the movie worthwhile. Not Carpenter's best work. Mark Arminski came to dad's funeral. Dad would have been pleased. Breakfast: carrots, mac-and-cheese, coffee with half-and-half Lunch: Dinner: Jet's pizza
