Tue Feb 16 06:57:57 EST 2016 Slept from just before ten to just before six. Barely stirred during the night. Mostly cloudy today. High of thirty-three. I read a couple of chapters of the Victorian Internet before bed last night, and another chapter when I woke up this morning. Interesting stuff --- network topology, congestion, the laying of undersea cable. ******** Oh, I nearly forgot! The SEMIBUG meeting is tonight. Goals: Work: - Tripwire Done. A few more hosts to set up, but I've got the config down. Also, there may be better HIDS's these days than tripwire. I'll look into our options. - Set up apt-cache-ng server Done. Fully working. - Follow up with CDW about Office license No. Twenty minute walk at lunch. Heard some crows. Saw a very fat robin, a blue jay, two small woodpeckers (hairy?), and a red-bellied woodpecker. Home: - Work on static site generator No. - Go to SEMIBUG meeting (7 PM at Altair) Done. Interesting presentation on FreeBSD-based Juniper JunOS by Feff from Altair at SEMIBUG. Their LAN is pretty damn impressive. Also, they're using Ansible to manage the switches. I didn't go out to dinner after the meeting. I did take a ten minute walk when I got home. I think it's warmer this evening than it was at lunchtime.
